About Me & Creative Potential...

My decorative art company started, kind of on it's own...
It was about a week after I graduated from The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. It was December 1987...just before the holidays...my parents took me on a cruise to celebrate.

I had hand painted two denim jackets...one for myself and one for my mom.... we both wore them on the trip.

Selling the jackets wasn't my motivation for creating them, but the response was so great I started taking orders right then! I continued with the hand painted clothing...mostly children's' items for a while..and it gradually evolved into painting murals, trompe l'oeil, decorative finishes and home accessories...as well as offering a wide variety of painting and craft classes.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my career path...and feel creatively renewed and excited about my new jewelry designs.

My goal has always been to provide personalized service and unique, one-of-a-kind, hand crafted items.

As for my business names...

Empire Celebrations was the name I used for many years...I chose it because I met my wonderful husband at a place in Arizona called "The Empire"...and it had a lot of meaning for us.

I chose to change my company name because I feel everyone has "Creative Potential"!

I hope you find yours...

On a personal note...

I've gone back to my roots...

Some of the first artwork I ever sold was handmade jewelry. They were mostly sterling silver rings I made when I was a sophomore in high school.

here are some I saved...

When I picked up my jewelry tools again...I realized they were the same tools I had started working with with back in high school...what a profound experience.

Some things have changed since then, though...

I realized I find great joy and inspiration in the "hunt" for unusual, one-of-a-kind or limited supply items to incorporate in my designs. In particular vintage pieces...blending the past with the present.

also, for today, I know I don't want to "mass produce" my artwork...preferring to let it "come through me" and move on...making room for new thoughts, ideas and inspiration.

My renewed interest in jewelry and accessory creation celebrates my journey to finding "my true authentic self".

Enjoy!
